Real life examples
Pretoria, South Africa - In 2000, Zambian Felix Mumbi arrived in
Pretoria with great expectations and excelled in the training.
Prior to this, Felix had not had clear direction in what he should
be doing for the Lord. As Felix spent time being discipled by his
flock leader, he grew and found himself directed to minister to his
fellow students. His leadership skills were honed during that time
and when it came time for outreach, he was appointed team leader
for the team headed into a remote part of Uganda.
The Ugandan outreach proved dangerous, requiring skillful
negotiating abilities to engage local authorities and warring
factions. Felix excelled once again, touching lives personally and
making a lasting impact on the people the team was working among.
Since completing his Live School training, Felix has facilitated
three Live Schools, one in South Africa, one in Botswana and the
Livingston Live School in Zambia. In all, he has discipled HOW
MANY?? students and continues with more. The impact on others is
exponential.
Pretoria, South Africa - In 2000, Julie Teo's home church in
Singapore sent the former insurance agent to the first Live School
that she be trained to go to the mission field. As the School
started, Julie seemed reserved yet responded eagerly to God's
working and to the responsibility given her by the School
leadership. Her flock leader spent much time in discipling her and
she flourished. During the outreach phase, Julie was part of a team
sent to an arid semi-desert area of Botswana to work among the
Bushmen. As several of the Bushmen turned to Jesus, Julie's work
really began, building relationships and spending much time
discipling those the Lord led her to.
One of those she discipled was Osupeng, a former witchdoctor, who,
as she grew, began to disciple others. During her 5 years in the
desert, Julie invested herself into a handful of others through
relational discipleship and was able to leave the ministry in their
reliable hands upon her departure. Julie's ministry continues today
as 'her' disciples disciple others on yet a far greater
scale.
