Guyana is a place where things happen for the first time ever! Last year we reported
that the first Schools in South America were started.

This time we are excited to report, for the first time, anywhere in the world, volunteers trained facilitators, in Guyana. Three volunteers were trained over a three month period as facilitators in the presentation of facilitator training. Please read a report written by one of these volunteers, Saddler Taylor.

“Praise Jesus! Live School has been firmly planted in South America! In January, a truly historic trip allowed. Live School USA Director Eddie Robinson and three new volunteers to travel to Guyana to train newfacilitators. By God’s grace, the training went smoothly and we look forward to what He has in store for all involved!

“Team Guyana” consisted of three new faces to Live School: James Blake, Ed Van Lierop, and Saddler Taylor. While each of us felt a specific call to join the Live School team, only after much prayer did a clear vision develop. Under Eddie’s guidance, we all went through the facilitator training program in preparation for the Guyana trip. For the first time, the Live School program is using volunteers to train new facilitators in
the mission field. Needless to say, the whole experiment is in God’s hands!

Our brother Jai was generous enough to host us in his home all week—he and his
family are truly a testament to God’s love and sense of community. I believe each
of the team members were blessed by their hospitality. The team spent two days at
a local church training three new facilitators. Brother Michael will be starting a
school in Berbice; Sister Shanella is starting one in the small village of Siparuta;
and Brother Leonard is starting a school in Orealla.

Since the majority of the unreached in Guyana live in villages in the remote interior,
the potential impact of this training is exciting! God is going to do big things in
South America—we’ve just scratched the surface! We were all encouraged by the
eagerness of the new facilitators to learn and grow. While they all had some questions
about the school, it was clear they were ready to go back to their communities
and start spreading the word about the Live School program.”

Since this report was written, we received a report that the two schools in the jungle villages started with twenty students. Please pray that God will work greatly in the lives of these students and that they will carry the gospel deeper into the jungle area.

To God be all the glory!
