ZANZIBAR Up Date – PHILEMONI OBEID- THE MISSION CENTRE OF ZANZIBAR
P.O.BOX - 1477 I great you in Jesus name. It has been a month now since I left Pretoria – (South Africa) and back to my country. Its good to be with my family again and we thank God that we are all doing well. I really enjoyed my visit to South Africa this time, it was a blessing days in my life. I want to say thank for all the people who supported me and welcomed into their home so that I can see what I saw, may the Lord Jesus bless you. It was good to meet a different people (missionary) from different country in Africa during my Mission School Facilitator Training Refreshers Course that I attended during my visit, and hear what Jesus is doing in their place, through the Mission School which I also doing here in Zanzibar. During this training we had a people from Swaziland , Kenya , Botswana , Zambia , Namibia , Angola , Zanzibar , Malawi , Nigeria , Zimbabwe , south Africa , DRC Congo , and other country in Africa. This training we had it was so powerfully to me because we leaned from one another through what we are doing in our country in reaching the unreached people. And through this God has given me a new vision in spiritually way that we need to use in Zanzibar through a local missionary and be able to reach the Muslims of Zanzibar and other parts of Africa with the gospel of Jesus.
Here in Zanzibar we still believe in training, because since we have been stated the mission school training center, it is now 3 years since we have started it and it is very power full tool for the church planting. Since 2006 through this kind of training more than 150000 Muslims people of Zanzibar they have heard the gospel of Jesus, and more than 500 Muslims people of Zanzibar give their life to Jesus. And now 5 churches has been planted and all are doing very well. This is through the Mission Training School that we have here in Zanzibar.
With your faithful support and prayers, my health is coming along fine, and I can truly testify with the Psalmist that the enemy would have swallowed me alive had it not been for the Lord. My body is physically exhausted, from all the many appointments, but my spirit is alive, always be renewed by grace from the boundless stores of our heavenly Father through your Prayers. I am now busy having a class with 6 Muslims who came to me in secret way and ask me if I can teach them more about Jesus and his salvation, 2 of them has now give their life to Jesus and we thank God for that, its really good to see how people search for the truth . We are also busy trying to use MEGAVOICE in our place, and it’s good to see how people a (Muslims) want to hear the story of creation and Jesus story, people are very entrusting in listening the MEGAVOICE and they ask us a lot of question because they need to know more about what they are hearing. This tool will help us a lot in reaching our people.
THE LIVE SCHOOL is a complete mission training program consisting of 240 hours of teaching on DVD and featuring some of the best missions training available today.
It is extraordinary tool designed for use by local churches, especially those in areas where is little or no formal training, to use to equip their own people in evangelization, mission and church planting. Here in Zanzibar we thank God that we are now having this kind of training and we are busy using it. From 2006, (26 local missionary has been graduating) and back to their churches, and all are busy with church planting in new places here in Zanzibar. We still love to ask you for you are more support for the next year 2009, we have 25 student that want to join the training next year on February and for us to make it we need (500U$) par month and the training takes 15 month to finish. Please pray with us so that we can make it for the glory of God.
We still need more prayer and more support from you to help us we local missionary to be able to do what we are doing, in reaching Muslims in our place. God can provide us a Jesus film project for our mission school we now need it especially when we go to the village for outreach we need a Jesus film project. God will stop every kind of spiritually thing that will interfere with our process. God will provide some money to buy a land here in Zanzibar for the new Churches that we are busy planted. God to provide financially support for our local missionary from our mission school and help them in where there busy planted the Churches in different difficult areas here in Zanzibar. Please pray for Zanzibar and the mission we have for Zanzibar, and pray for our ministry and the vision we have for Zanzibar.
