Africa is
ready
Past domination and persisting political instability has driven
Africa to hold out her hands and keep her feet stuck in the mud.
Money from abroad is poured into African governments while children
are found on the streets to beg instead of being sent to school.
And what about the church?
During our Southern Africa Live School Retreat from September
23rd to 29th, 140 Live School delegates from Botswana, Malawi,
Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe, along
with pastors from Kenya and Nigeria joined together in Musina,
South Africa. The goal was to equip current Live School
facilitators to train new ones, and to unite them to motivate each
other and get a firm grasp on God's vision to move the process
forward
The result was more dynamic than anyone had expected. An
emerging generation of Africans took a stand and said that it is
time that we no longer depend on initiative and support from
abroad. It is time for us to draw up a battle plan to move north
through Africa.
We were amazed at the percentage of young people who attended
the retreat. They brought with them a spirit of initiative and
ripeness that this continent is in need of, a spirit which is being
released even as I sit here writing this.This generation is setting
up businesses selling eggs, making atchar and washing clothes to
raise their own funds for missions. They are a true testimony of
what is happening in the minds, in the hearts and through the hands
of a new Africa. It can be done done!
A generation of "fathers" stepped up and prayed over these
rising leaders, asking forgiveness for their sins and for their
shortcomings as teachers and mentors. They released the younger
generation to move across the path they had founded and to go out
and shake the ground in Africa.
So we lift our eyes north, and we follow the vision planted in
us by the Holy Spirit. We have the generals. We have the soldiers.
And with the Word of God and by His Holy Spirit we are armed and
ready to reach our nations and those beyond
