Guyana trip report

Wow, what a trip!  My friend, Ed van Lierop joined me on the trip. We asked some of you to pray and he agreed that we could certainly feel God answering.

Here is a brief report:map of Guyana
- On Saturday we met with 20 students and facilitators and were blessed by their zeal to take the gospel across the nation.  One pastor in particular testified how his church had grown ever since he started reaching out to people far away.
- On Sunday we preached in 2 Churches and again could see how the Holy Spirit was touching people's lives.  We had the opportunity to pray for the sick as well.  In the afternoon we attended the graduation of the 2nd Live School in Guyana.  11 Students graduated and it was a wonderful celebration.  They have been going through Live School for 18 months now.

Take a few minutes to watch this rough cut video about the graduation.  Watch till the end to see what a joyous celebration it was.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWuuAJ3F2_E

- On Monday we started the facilitator training.  Well, we were amazed by the caliber of people God sent.  As we showed the first DVD, all present were touched by "Ultimately it is not missions, its worship".  Again, we could see how the Holy Spirit opened their eyes to see that everyone in the world needs to hear the gospel and they need to be part of the team.  In the end we train facilitators for 4 new schools.Guyana graduate class

- On Wednesday we had the opportunity to record a TV program that was broadcast last Sunday.  The interviewer would not stop and went 10 min overtime, he got so excited about Live School.  Please pray that many people will respond to the challenge to get trained.

- Wednesday evening I preached in the church and was overjoyed when 2 people gave their life to the Lord!  After church, we walked home and as we passed a home we were asked to come pray for a young muslim man who was having seizures due to kidney problems.  We pray fervently for him and later that night he was admitted to hospital.  This morning we got a report that after he woke up, and was told by his wife how the Christian community cared for him, he said that he wants to become a Christian.  Praise God for this!

As we met with the volunteers on the ground and took stock of the schools running, we found that 12 schools with 80 students are running in Guyana and Suriname.

God willing this number will grow to 16 soon.Graduate class

One day while teaching, this statement just bubbled out of my mouth.  "Prayer takes you there."  When you prayed for us, you were part of the above, you were there with us in spirit.  Thank you.  This was the most productive trip I've had to Guyana and I believe God answering your prayers made the difference.

God bless you.
