January 6-7, 2012

Live School came to life during the weekend-long Indaba at The Harvest in Lexington, SC.  Live School leaders from across the globe came to Lexington for a multi-church meeting of over 150 people who have a passion for missions and reaching the unreached and least-reached people of the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2012 IndabaPastor Ken Jumper, Senior Pastor at The Harvest, served as the host for this historic meeting. Saying that the vision was born after attending the Indaba meeting in Pretoria, South Africa at the end of July 2011,   Pastor Ken shared his belief that many people in the United States would be moved by the Holy Spirit to become involved in this process of world missions.  He noted that the Live School model of training local nationals to reach out and disciple people in their native land, provides an efficient and practical means for reaching the lost in the far reaches of the globe.

Pastor Johnnie White, Senior Pastor of Kingdom Vision Church in Columbia, SC, also part of the US team attending the Indaba in South Africa, shared this vision and provided resources to help make the event a success.  Other members of the US team included Andrew and Megan Rekers (First Baptist Church, Columbia, SC), James Blake (Gateway Baptist, Irmo, SC), Karen Frownfelter (The Harvest, Lexington, SC) and Steve & Karen Robertson (The Harvest, Lexington, SC).Chip Caroll

Members of the team began planning for the Indaba-Lexington shortly after returning from the Africa mission trip, which included travel through Botswana and a retreat for over 200 Live School facilitators and pastors in rural Zimbabwe.  The team was most impressed with the unity found in the body of Christ as well as the overwhelming need to bring more people into the Live School process developing a series of target regions that would serve as a HUB or focal point.

By the end of Indaba-Lexington, those invited were able to select one of the regional HUB's to focus their prayers and efforts in extending the reach and impact of Live School in that particular region. So far, HUB groups have been formed for these areas:
